Temre Uzuncan

Temre Uzuncan, Psy.D. is Director and Chief Psychologist of the Wright Institute’s Integrated Health Psychology Training Program (IHPTP), a multi-level training and service organization that includes an APA-Accredited Internship, Postdoctoral Fellowship, Practicum Placement.  In her role, Dr. Uzuncan oversees IHPTP’s day-to-day operations, program development and quality assurance activities .  Dr. Uzuncan leads a team of psychologists who provide training, supervision and an array of clinical services in six Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) designed to meet the behavioral health needs of a socio-culturally diverse, medically complex patient population. Under her guidance and leadership over 3000 patients are served annually and receive comprehensive integrated accessible clinical services including assessment, psychotherapy, neurocognitive assessments, health coaching support groups, and high-risk chronic pain management, HIV/AIDS support and Gender Health. Over the past several years, Dr. Uzuncan has served as a member and advisor of the Contra Costa Health Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) Behavioral Health Integration Leadership Committee in its behavioral health integration and population-based care quality improvement efforts throughout the Contra Costa Health System including the development and implementation of mental health screening, evidence-based treatment guidelines, centralized system of the behavioral health referrals in primary care and depression screening remission, which included CCRMC being recognized by the California Dept of Health Care Services - Public Hospital Redesign and Incentives in Medi-Cal (PRIME) with the PRIME 2019 Award of Excellence (a state-wide recognition of performance on key health care quality metrics for integrated behavioral health).

Michael Changaris

Michael Changaris, Psy.D. is the Chief Clinical Training Officer and Program Leader for the health psychology support groups and the Integrated High-Risk Chronic Pain Services. Dr. Changaris is a 2018 UCSF California Health Care Foundation Leadership Fellow.  He currently serves on the health disparities committee at Contra Costa Health Services and along with the team was recognized with the 2018 'Health Partnership' award for addressing implicit bias in health care. He specializes in multicultural psychology, stress physiology, and PTSD. He has expertise in integrated healthcare system delivery, psychopharmacology, geriatrics, and psycho-neuroendocrinology. Over the past several years, Dr. Changaris has served as a member and advisor of the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center's (CCRMC) Behavioral Health Integration Leadership Committee in its behavioral health integration quality improvement efforts throughout the CCRMC system including the development and implementation of mental health screening, evidence-based treatment guidelines, suicide screening and prevention and depression screening remission in which CCRMC was recognized by the California Dept of Health Care Services - Public Hospital Redesign and Incentives in Medi-Cal (PRIME) 2019 Award of Excellence (a state-wide recognition of performance on key health care quality metrics for integrated behavioral health). He is an adjunct professor with John F. Kennedy University and The Wright Institute and the author of a book on the health and healing impacts of touch across a lifespan. He is chair of the Somatic Experiencing Research Coalition and serves on the board of the foundation for Somatic Experiencing Training Institute, a multinational trauma treatment  organization.

Franca Niameh

Franca Niameh, Psy.D. has been a clinical supervising psychologist with the Wright Institute’s Integrated Health Psychology Training Program (IHPTP) since 2013 following the successful completion of her predoctoral internship. Dr. Niameh is co-chair of the IHPTP’s Diversity Committee which holds ongoing monthly discussions, training and accountability about diversity issues and social justice. Dr. Niameh oversees the integrated behavioral health services at the North Richmond Center for Health and facilitates a weekly support and psychoeducational group for individuals struggling with trauma and addiction. Her passion for social service and behavioral health has been inspired in large part by her role as a social worker prior to completing her doctorate in 2013. 

Lauren Gent, Psy.D has been a clinical supervising and training psychologist with the Integrated Health Psychology Training Program since 2013 where he started as a predoctoral intern. Dr. Gent oversees clinical services at the Pittsburg Health Center and created IHPTP's Behavioral Weight Loss Support Group program that runs weekly in five health centers in Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) as well as the interdisciplinary program, Food as Medicine. Dr. Gent partners with the CCHS Integrative Medicine Department and the Contra Costa Food Bank with the mission to combat obesity, reduce food insecurity and improve overall health for individuals. Dr. Gent is adjunct faculty of the Wright Institute and teaches Psychopharmacology.

Lauren Gent

Brian Kuennemeier

Brian Kuennemeier, Psy.D. has been a clinical supervising and training psychologist with the Integrated Health Psychology Training Program (IHPTP) since 2017, starting as a  intern. Dr Kuennemeier oversees IHPTP’s services at the West County Health Center and the entire integrated behavioral health referral system for all six health centers. He facilitates monthly support and professional development groups for the family practice physicians and leads the integrated services in Contra Costa Health Centers'  Gender Health Clinics and Positive Health Clinics. He is actively involved in CCHS' Pride Initiative and the HIV Consortium meetings and conducts assessments for surgical readiness for gender affirming surgeries. Dr. Kuennemeier co-leads IHPTP’s Diversity Committee that provides monthly training, dialogue and accountability about multicultural and sociocultural issues.

Lamson Bui

Lamson Bui, Psy.D. has been a clinical supervising and training psychologist provider with the Integrated Health Psychology Training Program since 2019 after completing his internship with IHPTP in 2017.  Dr. Bui leads IHPTP's integrated pediatric clinic serving children, adolescents and their families through the family practice division of Contra Costa Health Services.  Dr. Bui oversees the integrated clinical services in the Miller Wellness Center where he collaborates and works side by side with an interdisciplinary team of medical providers.

Nana O'Donnell

Nana O’Donnell, Ph.D. has been a supervising neuropsychologist for the Integrated Health Psychology Program (IHPTP) since 2017 providing neuropsychology assessment services to patients with a wide variety of neurobehavioral issues such as mild cognitive impairments, dementia, stroke, head injuries, chronic medical conditions, complex psychiatric comorbidities, adult ADHD as well as medical and financial capacity determinations.  In addition to  \clinical services, Dr. O’Donnell provides consultation, training and supervision, as well as manages various administrative, program development, and research duties including the referral management for the integrated neuropsychology assessment department at Contra Costa Health Services. Prior the joining IHPTP, Dr O’Donnell has extensive history working in the Veterans Administration Health System.

Nitu Hans

Nitu Hans, Ph.D. has been a supervising neuropsychologist since 2015 for the Integrated Health Psychology Training Program working with patients at the West County Health Center. Dr. Hans has extensive experience providing neuropsychological assessment  services since 2003 to adults and children struggling with developmental factors, brain injury, neurodegenerative disease, chronic pain and psychological factors that impact an individual's quality of life.

Sharon Perlman Berry

Sharon Perlman-Berry, Psy.D. has been a supervising and training neuropsychologist for the Integrated Health Psychology Training Program (IHPTP) since 2012. Dr Perlman Berry developed the integrated Neuropsychological Assessment Service Department at Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) which provides services to individuals struggling with neurocognitive issues such as brain injury, dementia, ADHD, medical conditions and capacity decisions. Dr. Perlman Berry is a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology and provides medical-legal evaluations for individuals who have been cognitively injured and disabled.
